Dexter Compliance Framework

We take compliance very seriously.  We strive to put in place standards to help experts manage conflicts and enable our clients to implement their own protocols. We have worked to develop the compliance framework for primary research as below.

FOR DEXTER EXPERTS

In order to be eligible to engage on Dexter projects, individuals in its expert network must agree to its Terms and Conditions, including the following:

  • The individual has reviewed any agreements or policies to which they are subject and are permitted to join the Dexter expert network.
  • The individual must promptly disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that may arise during the Dexter engagement. Conflicts of interest may include, but are not limited to, financial interests, competing for professional obligations, or personal relationships that could affect one’s objectivity or impartiality.
  • In providing any information via Dexter engagements, the individual attests that they have the full right to disclose such information and such information is not the intellectual property of a third party. Furthermore, the individual attests that they will not disclose any confidential information (including material non-public information) or otherwise restricted information.
  • The individual will decline to participate in any engagement, or will terminate any active engagement that would violate those agreements or any obligations they may owe to third parties.
  • The individual is prohibited from disclosing any project-related information they obtain from either Dexter or Dexter’s clients, whether in their personal or public networks or otherwise.

FOR DEXTER CLIENTS

We recognize that every client has their own protocols for how users engage with individual experts. Dexter’s platform provides options for clients to supplement Dexter’s compliance framework, including the following:

  • Projects can include customized screening questions which the expert must complete prior to accepting an engagement invitation. The screeners can be “knock-out questions,” which will automatically disqualify the individual if they answer in a specific way, and can be used to require the individual to attest to specific compliance-based questions.
  • Clients have the ability to review any individual who accepts a project invitation, and then cancel that individual from the engagement if they do not satisfy compliance requirements.
  • Members of Client’s Compliance Department may join any expert call that they would like to monitor, as well as review any recording and accompany transcript.

FOR EMPLOYERS

Dexter recognizes that employees of companies should be treated differently than independent consultants, and our compliance framework strives to acknowledge any constraints an employer may place on its employees. Individuals who are part of Dexter’s expert network are prohibited from engaging in any project regarding their employer.

In addition, Dexter will make its best commercial efforts to immediately and comprehensively enforce an organization’s policies that prohibit or limit outside consulting to any employees who are currently part of the Dexter network. If your company would like to inform us of any policies you have with respect to outside consulting, please contact us at compliance@dexterexperts.com.
