Why does Stripe need my Social Security Number and date of birth?

This information is required as part of Stripe’s mandatory identity verification requirement: Stripe must collect, verify, and maintain information on the individuals associated with every US Stripe account, as required by our regulators and financial partners. This is intended to promote transparency and prevent individuals from using complex company structures to hide terrorist financing, money laundering, tax evasion, and other financial crimes. More information can be found on the Stripe website here (https://support.stripe.com/questions/date-of-birth-and-social-security-number-(ssn)-requirement-for-us-stripe-accounts)

Stripe is asking me to provide business details, but I don't own a business

The fields for business details (e.g., business website, description, address) are included in the Stripe form as required fields for all non-US-based users. Please feel free to enter “Dexter Expert Network” for the name and “https://dexterexperts.com/” for the web address here because this is what will show up in the payment descriptor for any payments that you receive from us. If you enter anything else, Stripe may take extra steps to verify your account, which may delay the process.
